VIP Buyers Advisory Board meets in preparation for upcoming home décor & giftware Nigeria Exhibition

Discussions centred on the current state of the retail and design industry, with members agreeing that the market was enjoying a period of positive transformation marked by a steady growth pace despite the recent period of recession. It was noted that this growth is being driven primarily by individual’s purchasing power and behaviour and the ever evolving market size.  Mr  Ewaen Sorae, Managing Direcror, Esorae Luxury expressed that the three key factors vital to driving the retail industry forward are: product quality, affordability and associability and that the upcoming exhibition will support the growth of the sector by ensuring these products are easily accessible to Nigerian buyers. 

Omon Anenih Mordi, CEO and founder of Blue Mahogany spoke about her anticipation of the upcoming exhibition and the large variety of home aesthetics and gift items that will be available: “For the past 12 years I’ve planned my annual holidays around design week in London and made sure to visit shows like Pulse, Top Drawer and Home & Gift as often as my schedule and air fares would allow. I was elated to hear that Clarion events would be coming to us this time. There is such a huge market out here and this says to me that finally, Nigeria truly is a part of that Global village we all talk about.”  Omon is currently working on multiple major projects including “commercial offices and a restaurant in the desirable Eko Atlantic development, as well as a Boutique hotel in Abuja’s central business district and over 1000 square metres of office space in the prestigious Wings building in Victoria Island, Lagos.”

The exhibition, holding 14 – 16 November 2017 at The Landmark Exhibition Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria will bring the best homeware, furnishing, interior décor, textile and gift products and brands from international exporters to the 3000 attending retailers, designers and contract buyers.  The exhibition will also provide a platform for ‘Made-in-Nigeria’ items and support the development of the industry by providing free-to-attend networking and conference sessions.
